NIRVANA’s Final Show

On this day 1st March in 1994, NIRVANA played their last show ever at Terminal Einz in Munich. The capacity of the hanger was 3050 people.

However, the gig did not go as planned. During the song Come As You Are, the power got cut out and Krist Novoselic (Nirvana bass player) said to the crowd: “We’re not playing the Munich Enormodome tonight. Because our careers are on the wane. We’re on the way out. Grunge is dead. Nirvana’s over. Our next record’s going to be a hip-hop record!”

Nirvana finished the gig by playing Heart-Shaped Box which you can hear Kurt Cobain struggling with screaming due to the pain barrier due to recent bronchitis and laryngitis issues. The last words he ever said on stage were simple, “Well, thank you”.

Kurt Cobain committed suicide on April 5th, 1994 after he flees rehab in Los Angeles. Cobain’s body was discovered at his home in Lake Washington Boulevard three days after the suicide on April 8th. He was 27 years old.
